Free two-session pollinator workshop, at the headquarters building located at 13700 US Hwy 33 between Nelsonville and The Plains. Amateur and professional photographers are invited to document bees, beetles, butterflies and other insects that are visiting our pollinator garden, which will serve as the backdrop for the event. Through the use of photographs, biologists will be able to identify many of the insects and collect information on what insects are visiting the garden and providing pollination. Participants will need to bring their cameras and enthusiasm. All who attend are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather, including bringing a hat and sunscreen. Biologists will be available to discuss the roll and identification of pollinators and the importance of sowing native plants to encourage pollinator activity.
