United Appeal raises money annually through worksite fundraising campaigns at local employers including for-profit businesses, higher education, government offices, and local school districts.

Athens County 211 gives people a free number to call (211 or 866-784-3132 from a non-Athens county phone) for information such as: Is there a cancer survivors support group? I can’t pay my mortgage, how can I prevent foreclosure? How do I find out about boil orders? Where can I volunteer with senior citizens? What offices can help me start my own business? Where do I register to vote? And hundreds of other questions can be directed to the appropriate place by a simple call to 211 or by visiting 211athenscounty.org
