January 18 – SE Ohio Foodbank Food Giveaway for Athens County

Thanks to a sponsorship from Molina Healthcare of Ohio, the Southeast Ohio
Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, will be hosting a mobile pantry distribution at

Trimble High School (1 Tomcat Dr. Glouster, OH  45732),

Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Food items will be given away to income eligible families who are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, and are residents of Athens County.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, please contact the Southeast Ohio Foodbank at (740) 385-6813 to reserve a spot. Photo I.D. and proof of residency no more than 60 days old is required.

Open to the public. Free blood pressure, glucose, and cholesterol screening. Fasting 9-12 hours prior to testing is recommended and preferred.

The Southeast Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, will be holding a public volunteer packing event. Volunteers are needed for this fun and meaningful morning to pack food boxes. This event is family friendly, with tasks available for all ages.

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) provides a monthly box of shelf-stable food to nearly 4,000 low-income seniors in ten southeast Ohio counties: Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington. Volunteers are essential to the success of this program.

The City of Athens has announced there will be free holiday tree pickup of discarded live trees on Tuesdays and Fridays.
